Project 2 Material Specification
Project 1(A) - My Home My Space
ARC 1513 - Building Materials
In this assignment students were required to identify five building materials in their homes and describe them. I have been able to identify the uses of the building materials and also describe their physical properties.
Project 1(B) - Materiality of Space
In a group of 5, students were required to choose a site and produce two presentation board on 15 building materials in the site. Through this assignment, I have been able to identify not only finishing and furnishing materials, I have also been able to identify construction materials. I have widen my knowledge on the characteristics and properties of the materials. Also I have learned how materials affect the mood of the place and the senses of people.
In this intergrated project, students were required to choose materials for their proposed design. I have learned to choose a suitable material based on their asethetic and materiality. I have also been able to reason my choice by describing and explaining the physicality and properties of the material.
