AN ARCHITECTURE STUDENT'S PORTFOLIO SHOWCASING HER WORK AND THE LEARNING PROCESS
In this subject, students are required to conduct analysis on a historical building in a group of four. Students had to present their knowledge on the specific building through writing, drawing, model making and verbal presentation. My group members and I have chosen Chartres Cathedral, a french gothic building, for this project. Through the investigation work on this historical building, my knowledge on architecture terms, design and idea had widen.

In this assignment, my group members and I were required to research on Chartres Cathedral and produce a 500 word essay. No doubt I have learned a lot about gothic architecture. I have learned the architecture terms, the structure design and the design intention. Through extensive research on the historical periods before Gothic architecture, I have also learned how technology had improved and is reflected throught the buildings.
ARC 1313 - Architecture Culture and History 1
In this individual assignment, students were required to do in-depth analysis on the buildings they have chosen. I have used my knowledge on architectural terms and building design to conduct this assignment. I have furthered my knowledge about spatial organisation and spatial relationship for this assignment. Through this assignment, I understood how Chartres Cathedral was designed and I furthered understood the design intention of this historical building.
In this assignment, students were required to make models on their chosen building in groups. I have been able to determine the more significant parts of the building to be shown in the model. Also I have studied on the structure of the building in detail to build the model. I have also been able to record measurements of the building and build the model to scale.
4. Presentation
Students were required to present their study buildings in groups using the presentation board and the model. In this assignment, I have used all my knowledge on Chartres Cathedral and effectively exhibit through verbal presentation.
